CFAs for Injection Molding
Chemical foaming agents are added to the traditional injection molding process like any other additive master batch. Foamazol™ CFAs allow molders to increase shot speeds, reduce pack and hold pressures and times, reduce clamp tonnage, and can eliminate sink marks providing a Class A surface.
CFAs for Direct Gas Extrusion
Bergen International's line of nucleating agents provides excellent nucleation for gasses such as CO2, Nitrogen, Z2, Hydrocarbons, etc. These chemical foaming agents can provide fine, uniform cell structures in direct gas extrusion and reduce usage of physical blowing agent gases.
CFAs for Structural
Foam MoldingBergen International has developed a special line of chemical foaming agents for nucleation of physical blowing agent gases, such as Nitrogen, used in structural foam molding. These CFAs control the size, shape, and distribution of gas bubbles or cells in structural foam parts.
CFAs for Chemical
Foam ExtrusionBergen International chemical foaming agents can be added to any extrusion process the same way that other additive master batches. Theses CFAs produce a fine, uniform cellular structure, reduce the density of the extruded sheet or profile, and increase line speed.
CFAs for Rotational Molding
Whether the rotational molding process is a one step shot, or it employs drop box technology, Bergen International has a chemical foaming agent to yield fine cellular structure, excellent foam expansion, and even smooth skins in single stage applications.
CFAs for Cellular PVC and Wood Plastic Composite Extrusion
Bergen International offers several endo/exo blend chemical foaming agents for extrusion of cellular PVC and wood plastic composites. These blends provide the benefits of high gas pressure and volume due to the exothermic portion, while also eliminating profile distortion due to the endothermic portion.
CFAs for Gas Counter Pressure and Co-Injection Molding Processes
Bergen International offers chemical foaming agents for both Gas Counter Pressure and Co-Injection Molding when surface appearance is critical in molded part applications, but significant part weight reduction is also required.
CFAs for Foamed Wire and Cable Extrusion
Bergen International offers chemical foaming agents for wire and cable extrusion. Some Bergen CFAs are designed specifically for fluoropolymer and olefin wire and cable applications. These CFAs produce fine uniform cell structures in both foamed jacket and insulation applications.
- Endothermic CFAs
- Endothermic chemical foaming agents are chemicals that take heat away from the chemical reaction. This produces foams with a much smaller cell structure, resulting in improved appearance and better physical properties. Find an Endothermic CFA
- Exothermic CFAs
- Exothermic chemical foaming agents generate heat during the decomposition process. They liberate more gas per gram of foaming agent than endothermic agents and higher gas pressure. Find an Exothermic CFA
- Endo/Exo Blend CFAs
- Endothermic and Exothermic blends can have a synergistic effect that offers benefits over the use of either an endo or exo by themselves. Find an Endo/Exo Blend CFA
- Custom Formulated CFAs
- Bergen International prides itself on our ability to work with you to develop the exact blend that offers the best set of performance/cost benefits for your specific process and polymer. Find out more on custom CFAs
